CMEs MISS EARTH: New Geomagnetic Storm Watch Issued

CME'S MISS EARTH:

NOAA forecasters have downgraded the chance of geomagnetic storms on April 3rd to only 1%. This follows a storm warning on April 2nd when a group of CMEs were expected to sideswipe Earth's magnetic field. However, all of the CMEs appear to have missed our planet.

Via Solarham.netNEW GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH ISSUED:

Below is an updated video by LASCO C3 capturing a pair of coronal mass ejections. The most impressive event in the video is the bright halo eruption following the M6 flare around region 2027 on Wednesday. It was directed mostly the east with only a slight Earth directed component possible. If you watch the video closely beginning at 20:00 UTC April 1st, you will notice a faint, slow moving halo CME which appears to headed towards Earth. A geomagnetic storm watch in effect for April 5th is based on this particular event. More updates in the days ahead.
