Only three annual meteor showers can exhibit over 100 meteors per hour. The most overlooked of these is the Quadrantids, which will peak on Friday night, January 3. The Slooh super widefield all-sky camera will monitor the heavens to capture these medium fast shooting stars, accompanied by narration by Slooh astronomer Bob Berman. This year, the Moon is a thin harmless crescent that sets before nightfall even begins, providing ideal dark sky conditions for this shower.
